Pre-Purim Persian Friday Night

It should be an interesting Shabbos – 1 child away on a Shabbaton, 1 child on local Shabbaton, so friend staying,  hosting a pre-Purim Persian Friday night for our shul youth and my husband guest speaking at another local shul, so walking over there with him tomorrow.

Here’s the Persian Friday night menu:  mostly from Claudia Roden’s Book of Jewish Food and Sephardic Cooking with some additions from Persian Food.

Humus, pickles, olives, cruditees

Persian chicken soup with meatballs

Chicken with potatoes and aubergines, Beef and Split Pea Stew, Rice, Chickpea Salad, Persian Salad

Baklava and Vanilla Icecream
